What's New

The Revolutionary N-LITE Laser
In October 2000, the newest wrinkle reduction laser was introduced to Louisiana by Dr. Saloom. The N-LITE is the only laser FDA approved specifically for wrinkle reduction. No pain, no redness, no peeling, no down time. Does it sound too good to be true? Call for a free consultation. At Premier Laser Center we are proud to again be the first to bring this to our active patients.

CYMETRA - The Long Term Collagen
In August 2000, Dr. Saloom introduced to the Baton Rouge area an injectable material that offers an innovative alternative to corrective surgery. CYMETRA is injected into wrinkles to “fill in” the crease, in much the same way silicone and fat has been used. The difference is it is made from patented, processed human tissue (collagen) that has been safely and successfully used for 8 years in more than 50,000 cases for a variety of medical procedures. The results with this material have been shown to last longer than 2 years, far beyond the 3 - 5 months of the animal derived collagen which has been used for years. BOTOX - The Non Surgical Way to Erase Facial Wrinkles
In the 1980’s, the FDA approved a drug, BOTOX, which can be injected into the fine facial muscles to limit their activity, thus softening the lines for three to five months. After this time, muscle function returns to normal. BOTOX injections cannot improve facial wrinkles due to aging and sun-damage, since this is not related to facial muscle contraction. Years of experience with BOTOX show it to work best on forehead frown lines, crows feet, and some lip wrinkles. Dr. Saloom’s experience with BOTOX goes back to 1986, making him one of the most experienced physicians in the U.S. administering this medicine. WHAT'S NEW IN FACIAL PEELS
Premier Laser Center offers a variety of products to assist you in the search for beautiful skin. One of the most popular services is the facial peel. We offer several alternatives depending on what you would like to treat and your major concern. A chemical facial peel is much less expensive than microdermabrasion - and the results are much better.

Permanent Hair Reduction
Imagine, not being bothered by unwanted hair. In the winter of 1996, Dr. Saloom became one of the first physicians in the U.S. to offer permanent hair reduction using lasers. We recently replaced the Palomar Epi-Laser with the “next generation” Palomar E-2000, which is the world’s fastest, most comfortable, and most effective laser for permanent hair reduction. Say good-bye to waxing, plucking and electrolysis. Call Premier Laser Center to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Saloom.

About Premier Laser Center
Is there a Doctor in the house? We are a physician directed practice. At every visit to the office, you will be able to discuss your condition or progress of your treatments with Dr. Saloom. Some of the laser hair reduction procedures are administered by our certified laser technicians. They have received formal training by attending courses presented by the laser manufacturing company, as well as an apprenticeship with Dr. Saloom, allowing them to participate in hundreds of procedures. Even after completing this training, all treatments are discussed and monitored by Dr. Saloom. No other place in Baton Rouge has a physician on the premises for laser treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions About Permanent Make-Up by Elizabeth Brown, LPN, CDT
What exactly is permanent make-up? Permanent make-up is cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as “micropigmentation”. The implantation technique deposits colored pigment into the upper layer of the dermis.

Is it painful? Most people will experience some discomfort, and that will vary from person to person. HOWEVER, the use of topical anesthetics can minimize this.

How long do most procedures take? For most procedures, the time will take approximately 1-2 hours with touch up procedures usually not requiring as much time.

Who can benefit from permanent make-up? In one word..EVERYONE. Young to elderly, busy women with little time to apply make-up, women with allergies to conventional make-up, active women, and women who have a vision impairment and find it difficult to apply make-up. Permanent make-up can produce a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. Also men can benefit for scar/camouflage, burn survivors, and people with small skin flaws.
